Doctor Drew Monitto

Doctor Drew Monitto is Rock and Roll Reunion’s sixth man.
Its first player off the bench.
The band’s doctor on call.
He is a whale of a keyboard player and the band’s good friend.
Drew and the members of R&RR got to know each other early in 2009 when the band began rehearsals for the first annual “Docs Who Rock” fundraiser for the Spartanburg County Medical Society Auxiliary.  Drew, a radiation oncologist, was among the local doctors who volunteered their musical talents for the March 14th battle-of-the-bands style show at USC-Upstate.  The SCMSA teamed him up with R&RR.
Drew had never performed with a rock band, but it was evident from the start of rehearsals that he would be a terrific addition.  Drew did so well learning the songs, he made it possible for R&RR keyboardist Andre` Kerr to switch to saxophone for the “Docs Who Rock” performance.  It gave the band a new dimension.
Rock and Roll Reunion tied for first place in the band competition of “Docs Who Rock,” thanks largely to Drew’s energetic contributions.
Drew’s interest in the band didn’t end with “Docs Who Rock.”  He continues to rehearse with R&RR.  He will perform with the band from time to time as a second keyboardist and in other roles.
Drew also enjoys sharing the gift of music with his family.  He and his wife, Barb, are the parents of five boys.
Drew has livened up the conversation during breaks at the band’s rehearsals.  The members of R&RR enjoy asking the good doctor, “Why does it hurt when I do –THIS-??”
He also makes sure the band eats healthy, bringing fruit and bagels as rehearsal snacks (though he does sometimes make a stop at Krispy Kreme).
Dr. Drew Monitto, you are -the- doc who rocks!  Welcome to the Rock and Roll Reunion family!
